Delaware block chain leader opens new business

nRunaway Comment: According to CoinDesk, Andrea Tinianow, the founder of the Delaware blockchain initiative, has left the project and is now chief innovation officer at Global Kompass, a Delaware-based management consultancy. And it is this blockchain initiative that has prompted lawmakers in the state to adopt a new law on blockchain, paving the way for state companies to issue and store their shares through the distributed ledger.n

Andrea Tinianow posted the news on LinkedIn on January 2 and confirmed to CoinDesk that she had left the government-backed initiative on December 31. Tinianow added that she has now started as chief innovation officer at Global Kompass, a Delaware-based management consulting firm.n
Tinianow said her new role will be primarily to provide advisory services to public and private sector organizations, including issues related to blockchain technology – especially in law, government and international affairs.n
And since Tinianow had previously been involved in launching the Delaware Blockchain Initiative, her departure is also noteworthy. The formal move prompted Delaware to adopt a new law that paved the way for companies in the state to issue and store shares through the distributed ledger.n
Last July, Delaware legislators signed the legislation, and a year before the legislation was signed, Governor Jack Markell of Delaware announced in May 2016 an ambitious map of the blockchain.n
