IBM joint Nestlé, Unilever and other food giants use block chains to track food contamination

nnnPost Comment: According to the World Health Organization survey data, the global population affected by food pollution accounted for a large proportion, the EU food safety commissioner recently because of such events held a summit. In order to improve the transparency and security of the food supply chain, IBM has built a solution on the open source platform of the superblogging block and has worked with the global food giants such as Nestlé, Unilever and Wal-Mart to implement the solution.n

nNestlé, Unilever, Wal-Mart and other global food giants have joined IBM to jointly use block chains to reduce food contamination.n
nThe company on Tuesday announced that it will allow global food companies to use their chain-chain network to track the source of contaminated food.n
nWorld Health Organization (World Health Organization) said that 1/10 of the people each year because of contaminated food and sick. Earlier this month, fipronil insecticide contaminated eggs caused panic, the EU food safety commissioner held a summit.n
nIBM says health problems with toxic food to consumers can be solved using its distributed book technology, which can maintain digital records of transactions rather than physical records.n
nIt allows food suppliers to collect food sources, status, mobility and other information, within a few seconds you can track contaminated food.n
nn
nTransparencyn
n”All the opportunities we share are to provide transparency to the current ecosystem as a whole,” said Brigid McDermott, vice president of business development at IBM Block Chain.n
nIBM’s block-chain experts say building a chain-chain network means providing “fantastic solutions” and “growing ecosystems”.n
nn”That’s what we’re trying to do, we’re trying to use it for transparency across the ecosystem, so that we can find problems that make it easier for people to run safe systems and food supply chains.”n
nnWal-Mart has worked with IBM to track food circulation digitally. At the June meeting of shareholders, Frank Yiannas, Wal-Mart’s vice president of food safety, showed the process of using block-chain tracking information, which took less than three seconds.n
nn”Block-chain technology supports new end-to-end transparency in the global food system, similar to illuminating food ecosystem participants with light to further promote responsible action and behavior.”n
nnn”It also allows all participants to share information more quickly and confidently in a strong, trusted network, which is critical to ensuring the safety of the global food system.”n

nHow the block chain worksn
nBlock chain, or distributed book technology, is a decentralized data record that is stored in a computer network, not a physical book.n
nThe original block chain creator is the coin founder of Satoshi (Satoshi Nakamoto), as all the special currency transactions of public books.n
nExperts believe that the technology can provide a secure and transparent information network that transforms health care into all sectors of agriculture.n
nIBM’s McDermott said, “We see changes in energy, medical, marketing and other industries that can really be achieved.”n
nn”I think part of the reason is that the chain chain can bring changes from different areas.”n
nnIBM solutions are built on Hyperledger, a block-block expert who says the block chain may continue to expand from the financial services industry to other large areas.n
nHyperledger executive director Brian Behlendorf said that because it can affect each industry, there is no accident that the most interesting industry is transactional, distributed. “n
nn”Even if you divide the financial market into core banking, capital formation, private equity, all of these different areas of business core have books.” Set up distributed books is a way to check these books. “n
nnBehlendorf said:n
nn”But there are health care, supply chain, which are constantly emerging topics. Any large industry, the US GDP in any element may be discussed in the block chain pilot.”n
